KEMI OTEGBADE’S “CELEBRITY HOUSEMATES” HITS THE SCREEN JANUARY 12, 2018

Come January 2018, Television viewers across Africa will be treated to a fresh reality television show. Tagged ‘Celebrity Housemates’, the show will hit television screen and online platforms from January 12 to February 11, 2018.

At the media launch recently, Executive Producer, Kemi Otegbade who is also Managing Director of Heartlink Ventures said the show is a reality show with a difference as it sets out to “change communication and engagement platform to celebrate and reward our entertainment icons thereby providing engaging content and entertainment for television viewers.”

Otegbade, revealed that the show will parade 12 celebrity contestants and will showcase a convergence of Nigerian culture and lifestyle. The 12 celebrity contestants are drawn from the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria and designed to bridge ‘the negative perception of our nation and showcase our strengths.’

Stars who will battle for the grand prize include actress and TV presenter, Doris Simeon, musician, label owner and fashion entrepreneur, Ruggedman, actress and singer, Muma Gee, actress and comedian, Ada Ameh, actress and fashion stylist, Peggy Ovire, actress and economist, Eniola Badmus, actor and businessman, Bolanle Ninalowo, beauty queen and entrepreneur, Ogenna Ekwubiri, actor, Frederick Leonard, actor, Emmanuel Ikhubese, actor, YomiFash Lanso, comedian and actor, Funky Malam.

The celebrities will be camped in one house in the swank Amen Estate, Lekki, Lagos and will be placed on series of daily challenge and tasks where the contestants will prove their entrepreneurial acumen through various challenges on the 4-week show. The content of the show will focus on lifestyle, interpretation of culture, special games, entertainment and educational driven tasks, among others.

Celebrities and role models in the society will visit the housemates to relate with them and share ideas on projects, careers, and entrepreneurial achievements. Each week, viewers will vote for their favourite celebrity while the two contestants with weakest votes will be evicted.

The last man standing according to Otegbade, will go home with cash price of N7 million while other contestants will go home with other cash prices and endorsement deals. Otegbade also said the show will donate N2 million to two charity homes and N1 million to selected viewers.

The 30 day show will be streamed live on all scheduled online media platforms for 24 hours, one hour daily show on national terrestrial TV and cable stations. The reality show is powered by Hearlink Ventures and sponsored by FlyforValue, Lagos Internal Revenue Service, Dope TV, Amen Estate and other forward looking brands who have committed to be part of the show through brand advert placements
